“Festival of Lights”: yoo berlin optical enchantment

17 October 2011 – Passers-by are dumbfounded: since yesterday, the showcase of the “yoo berlin” residential complex Peach Property Group is realizing just a few steps away from Friedrichstrasse, directly on the Spree, has been drenched in a warm, green shimmer. As a part of Berlin’s long-standing “Festival of Lights“, the illumination luminaries of spice graphics have also undertaken to transform Bertolt-Brecht-Platz and the “yoo berlin” complex, which is enshrouded with huge semitransparent canvases, into an awe-inspiring landscape.

Yet again this year, fully committed citizens and companies are lending wings to and fostering the “Festival of Lights”. Governing mayor Klaus Wowereit noted in his introductory comments: “My sincere thanks go to all of you for this fascinating endeavor, one that repeatedly demonstrates with surprising illumination and coloration the adaptability of our city. Let there be light! Let there be color! Let there be Berlin!“

In its illuminated showroom, Peach Property Group will be presenting its “yoo berlin” project in detail through 23 October. At a historically preeminent location on the Spree in Berlin Mitte, this Swiss company is collaborating with designer Philippe Starck in the construction of 87 “yoo berlin” condominiums with a total residential floor space of 12,800 m². Additional features are a lobby, wellness and spa areas, as well as a bar and café. The dwellings ranges from 62 to 339 m² in size (www.yooberlin.com).
