150 guests attend topping-out ceremony for Harvestehuder Weg 36 in Hamburg

27 February 2013 – On 26 February, Peach Property Group AG and 150 invited guests celebrated the topping out of the second phase of the company’s residential development project, known as H36, at Harvestehuder Weg 36, Hamburg. Construction workers, future residents and project managers witnessed the topping out ceremony, which involved the traditional celebratory address followed by the hoisting of a decorated crown onto the newly constructed shell.

Hamburg’s Chief Planning Officer, Prof. Jörn Walter, paid tribute in his address to the efforts of all those involved in the project, singling out the workers for their particular endeavours. Hamburg needed more housing, he declared. But in the drive to build, it was important to give the architecture a face that was worthy of the city and of the particular location. In that sense, the H36 development on Harvestehuder Weg took up important themes. It acknowledged the existing architecture in the neighbourhood, yet differentiated itself through its architectural features, which responded to the particular demands of the location. He hoped that Peach Property Group would consider realising further projects in Hamburg.

Emerging at Hamburg’s best address, H36 comprises five villas housing a total of 57 exclusive private apartments occupying a prime location on the banks of the Outer Alster. The H36 development comprises two parts at Harvestehuder Weg 36 and at Alsterkamp 43. The first tranche of the construction, at Alsterkamp 43, has been completed and 12 of the 13 apartments have been sold. At Harvestehuder Weg, approximately 60 per cent of the apartments have either already been notarised or reserved. The apartments are scheduled for completion and occupation this summer, and all should have been sold by the end of the year.
