Berlinale 2012: ‚yoo-mobil‘ and the Berlinale Lounge

05.03.2012

yoo berlin creates a stir

20 February 2012 – The Golden Bears have been handed out, while large numbers of visitors to this year’s Berlinale will be coming away with a clear idea of yoo berlin, the ambitious residential and hotel development project in Berlin masterminded by Peach Property Group: during the festival weekend, the ‚yoo-mobil‘ could be seen in the vicinity of the red carpet attracting curious and interested glances. The ‚yoo-mobil‘ motorised billboard saw Peach Property Group introduce a highly effective form of publicity to Berlin City in the run-up to Christmas 2011. While tea time in the showroom was the attraction at the end of 2011, now, during the Berlinale, celebrities were invited to grace yoo-berlin’s Philippe Starck-designed interiors: this is where SenfkornFilm established its Berlinale Lounge to promote a new film project showcasing Rolf Eden, cult veteran of Berlin’s night life. The showroom, meanwhile, witnessed exciting encounters featuring stars of the Berlin scene. Personalities from the worlds of film, music, art, fashion and IT had lively get-togethers in the stylish apartment-oriented ambience.

It was in 2009 that the SenfkornFilm team centred around producer/film-maker Michael Simon de Normier had their greatest success to date as co-producers of the The Reader, which stars Kate Winslet, Alexandra Maria Lara and David Kross. Kate Winslet won a number of awards for her portrayal of Hanna Schmitz, including an Oscar for Best Actress, a Golden Globe Award and the European Film Prize.

Following the successful Berlinale premier, Peach Property Group continued to promote its development project at the yoo berlin showroom. In partnership with designer Philippe Starck, 87 premier apartments are emerging on a unique, historical site on the banks of the River Spree in Berlin’s Mitte district. yoo berlin comprises a saleable floor space of 12,800 m2. It will also benefit from a lobby and a wellness/spa facility complete with bar and café. On offer are private apartments ranging in size from 62 to 339 m2 (www.yooberlin.com). The development complex also encompasses a hotel and commercial space.
